Alisha + Dustin | The Gin at Nesbit Wedding
The Etheridges!! Some of the most kind and gentle people you’ll ever meet! If you know them personally, you know what I mean. From the minute I met Alisha, I was secretly hoping she would turn into a friend through the process of planning her big day. I knew that if she was so great, then Dustin had to be something special too. Nathan and I think it’s an honor any time someone entrusts us with capturing their big day, but these two were something special to us! I hope you enjoy scrolling through these sweet smiles, stories, and laughs ☺️
The Proposal (by Alisha):
“Dustin and I were going on a Saturday night dinner date, and we decided to walk by the river before dinner. We walked for a while and stopped at a bench where we sat and I took some snapchats of the sunset because it was really beautiful that night. However, the mosquitos were TERRIBLE (big surprise) and trying to eat me alive. So I kept asking Dustin if we could go because I was also starting to get hangry. So Dustin kept stalling and I was starting to get impatient with him. I would later find out that he was nervous and didn’t want a lot of people around when he proposed! Lol. So finally, I got up and jokingly told him I was leaving him behind, and when I started walking I turned around to see if he was following me. He said “well I wanted to ask you a question” and I walked back toward him. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I didn’t expect it at all because my mind was so focused on food and mosquitos. It was so sweet!”
When asked a little bit about how these two would describe each other, I loved their answers. Dustin said “Alisha is my best friend. She keeps my life organized and holds it all together. She brightens my day. I feel so loved when she’s around.”
Alisha said, “Dustin is SO patient and loving. He is always willing to go out of his way for me. He’s giving, consistent, and hardly ever complains. He loves me so well and in the way that God leads him to love me.”
Alisha and Dustin love to ride bikes, eat, travel, hike waterfalls, and watch movies together! Their favorite restaurants are Huey’s, Las Delicias, Central BBQ, and Deja Vu (I’ve only been to almost all of these last week…so that’s not embarrassing).
I loved Alisha and Dustin’s answer to one of my questions about their relationship. I think it’s something that is SO important in a marriage and something that keeps you fun and light-hearted with each other. They said, “We want to remember and keep the friendship that we have in our relationship. We can truly say that we are each other’s best friend, and we balance each other out.”
THANK YOU Alisha and Dustin for letting us play a small part in such a big day for you guys. We are SO thankful for you both and can’t wait until we see you next!
